In order to guarantee the most dynamic online content for The Riveter, we are sending out a call for five columnists to help foster this space as an intelligent and provocative go-to for culture, media, literature, feminism, travel and sex.

If you would like to bcome a part of The Riveter team, please send a resume, cover letter and sample column to therivetermagazine at gmail dot com. The cover letter should explain your theme for a weekly column. What about it will keep readers coming back? How does it fit with The Riveter’s mission? Our mission is to promote longform journalism and narratives by women, but that doesn’t mean we can’t provide a platform for timely discussion about current events as well!

The requirements for an online Riveter columnist include:

1. One column per week on the same day each week. We will pay $10 per column ($40 per month).

2. A thoughtful, analytical, conversational approach. We often describe The Riveter‘s voice-as diverse as we try to make it-like someone sitting on a patio, drinking a cider and explaining something to a friend. Tell us what you really think.

3. Accountability. We welcome a variety of voices, musings and opinions, but we require follow through. Please do not apply for this columnist position if you do not think you can write a 300-500 word column each week on deadline.
