You may have noticed the tab at the top of our page labeled “The originals.” You may have also noticed that it currently leads to a screen of white space.

Doesn’t that make you want to fill it up really fast? That’s how we feel. The support we’ve gotten over the past few days has been so overwhelming, and submissions have been rolling in. The two of us are in different states right now (geographically, I mean, because mentally we are definitely in sync), but we’ve had to textually pinch each other multiple times at the outpouring of enthusiasm and encouragement about our magazine we’ve been drinking in nonstop.

We have an editorial calendar in place that has publication of original work starting in June. We aim to publish one longform narrative or piece of journalism each week. We’re rolling up our sleeves, ready and excited to start publishing riveting stories by women.

That being said…we need more work! We are so pleased with submissions so far, but the beauty of our online magazine platform is that space is infinite as long as we keep purchasing customizable upgrades from WordPress! And we will as long as you all keep sending work. So please, continue to wow us. If you’ve read about us and thought, “Hmm, I could send these gals that one piece that I’ve been tweaking for months but I’m not sure if I should and I don’t know maybe I’ll watch another episode of House of Cards instead…” please put down the Wii remote and send that very piece to therivetermagazine@gmail.com. Also, do you have a story idea? So do we. Day and night. So many ideas. Shoot us an email about your idea, and we can dialogue about maybe making your idea a reality.
