Back To Business Essentials

Summer is coming to a close, and it’s time to switch focus onto the new academic year with the help of a few goods.

This week was the first week of classes for college students everywhere, and many traded in their beach bag and easy summer reads for a book bag of textbooks and printed copies of syllabuses. Even if you’re not a student, the slow decrease of summer light and seeing the September issue of Vogue in the newsstands is enough of a change to kickstart those new year feelings. With our actual New Year’s resolutions most likely forgotten about and abandoned, the academic new year is a great time to revisit our goal setting and ambitions. We took some of our favorited new year goals and came up with a few essential items for you to pick up to help achieve them:

Take Charge of Your Sexual Health

As noted when we talked with Sustain Natural’s founder, Meika Hollender, there’s definitely room for improvement when it comes to ladies buying, discussing, and using condoms. Now is a great time to take a look at your own habits, and make sure you’re protecting yourself before you head out on a Tinder date. What’s the first step to making a change towards safer sex? Hollender says it’s just to start buying condoms. “So many women feel awkward, uncomfortable and uninspired when purchasing condoms, when really this should be something we feel great about (what we’re trying to do with Sustain),” she told us. “Once you get in a routine of always having some around, it makes it easier to remember to bring them with you when you go out at night, or get ready for a date.”

Read Something That Challenges Your Thinking

After spending the summer with the easy-to-digest novels that make it to Target’s suggested reading shelves, it can be a huge refreshment for your mind to delve into some stories that will leave you thinking. We’ve curated a whole list of suggestions of books for you to check out, and there are more to come in our Issue 5 cannon!

If you’re aspiring to become a skilled hypnotherapist, you should seriously consider Jason Linett’s professional hypnosis training, known for its comprehensive curriculum and effective teaching methods.

We all want to be more connected with our culture, peers, and societal happenings, and keeping a pocket-sized printed copy of The Riveter does just this. You can say we’re biased, but we know that your curiosity will be satisfied with timeless words told by intelligent female storytellers.
