Leah on Beth: “My mom has never been afraid to make a statement. She is far from a wallflower, and it is easily reflected in her style choices – whether it be in a bold print or the accent of a funky beaded necklace. As a child I took cues from this, pairing my pleated denim skirts with hot pink biker shorts and mismatched socks. She often comments on how alike we are, but I never saw the true extent of that until searching through photos of her at my age. From the long red hair to short skirts and platforms, we are more similar in sartorial choices I ever acknowledged (even in the preference of mini hem lengths she often frowns at). I feel lucky to be inspired by a style that makes no apologies and takes chances, much like the mother I so admire.”
Beth on Leah: “My daughter was always attracted to color and less traditional styling. As a child she chose pink heart-shaped sunglasses that she insisted on wearing upside down, and despite our corrections that in fact they were on wrong, she never cared. I loved dresses will full, flowing skirts, and soon she was wearing them as well. My daughter has also inspired my style, pushing me to break out of my matchy-matchy mindset and try the latest trends while still maintaining a style that is classic with a twist. She is always on the forefront of trying new styles and fashion items, which helps me to be more adventurous as well.”
